New York Teardown

New York Teardown

Watercolor.

New York Teardown, possibly on Park Avenue. “When they’d break down a building,” says Steve Malinchoc, “you’d have all these different-colored walls inside the building. They’d knock down the wall, and to allow people to walk underneath, they had scaffolding that was generally made with doors. All around us on 23rd Street, a lot of small, four-story buildings were being knocked down. This painting was just out of this world, as far as I was concerned. He just caught this.”
